Ari Marcopoulos: Portraits From the Studio and The Street
In 1987, Dutch publisher uitgeverij Bert Bakker published Marcopoulos' first book 'Portraits From the Studio and The Street' - a collection of images offering a glimpse of New York's art world and burgeoning Hip Hop scene at the time. Figures such as Andy Warhol, Rakim, Robert Mapplethorpe, and The Jungle Brothers were captured by Marcopoulos.
This year, IDEA (UK) have republished this impressive body of work in the form of a canvas-bound facsimile of the original publication, alongside previously unseen material and an introduction by Glenn O'Brien. Edition of 500 copies.
