Join distinguished photographer and chronicler of suburban life in the USA, Bill Owens, for a talk stemming from a single photo.
The Story Behind a Photo is an ongoing series at The Photographers' Gallery inviting key speakers to talk about the significance of a single photograph. Each talk takes the form of a slideshow lecture.
Bill Owens made his name with the publication Suburbia, in 1972. In 1983, after working several years as a photojournalist, publishing a series of books and producing two children, Bill began his brewing career. All the while, he has continued to make, exhibit and sell his photographs. In 2003, he founded the American Distilling Institute that focusses on the renaissance of craft spirits.
