Eamonn Doyle: K (Signed)
After his Dublin Trilogy (i, ON and End) he moves from the city to the Atlantic West coast of Ireland, a landscape that appears in places, almost out of time.
In intense colour we follow a veiled, spectral figure as it moves through the stark landscape alongside dense black and white photographs that describe some kind of seismic activity.
Printed on some pages are stratified layers of hand-written letters from a mother to her dead son, Eamonn's brother Ciarán who died in 1999, a death their mother Kathryn never got over. In the letters words can be made out here and there with an appearance like musical notation.
Working with a 1951 Irish Keen musician David Donohoe has composed a new, two-part piece for voice that accompanies this body of work for exhibition, and is included in the book as a 10" vinyl record.
This lavish hardback is published by Eamonn's D1 imprint in an edition of 1000.Title: K
