Charlie Kwai: Magnetite

On the Italian Riviera, between Venice and Rimini, sits an unassuming stretch of beach lined with a few thousand sun loungers, interrupted only by a canal that feeds the neighbouring nature reserve. At the shoreline are 28 resorts, each with their own flavour, tailored to the taste of their guests. Without hesitation, these guests return year-on-year, day-in-day out, from sunrise to sunset — to pledge their undying love for a place they call home for a day, a week or the whole summer. And like a magnet, their eternal attraction never fades.

Magnetite is a collaboration between British street photographer Charlie Kwai and Italian creative director Marco Minzoni, who met in London 5 years ago.

"We're giving sunbed fabric salvaged from the beach resorts of Lido Estensi a new lease of life as our cover, making each book totally unique. The book is of large format, bound in a single section, and comes in a hand screen printed transparent zipper bag"
