Fan ho was an actor, film director and photographer. A proudly self-taught photographer photographer he shot the streets and slums of Hong Kong in the mid- twentieth century in a style that is both gritty and beautiful.

Hong Kong Yesterday is the first in a three volume trilogy published by Modernbook of San Fransisco the 7th edition is out of print.
