"Randy lives where I grew up -- right by a swimming hole where I would take my girlfriend's Klonopin and float on my back listening to the water in my ears. He lives by where I crashed by aunt's Dodge Stratus, where I had my first job and where I stopped drinking. I think about the failure of fantasy. The pictures of the American West hung on Randy's walls, Beach Boys songs, fur blankets on black leather La-Z-Boys, pictures of naked women and faded out clippings of tropical islands. I wanted to see what I looked like next to Randy and what he looked like next to me."
