Ichida, Sayuri: Absentee

UK-based Japanese artist Ichida’s work explores the complexities of emotion by capturing the human form and sculptural objects, reflecting her own memories and life experiences. “Absentee,” featuring Ichida’s own body as the subject, evokes a sense of absence, or detachment from oneself or reality, as the word “absentee” suggests. This selection features six works from this series, published in 2022.
