Yamada, Naoko: Snack

After losing her job at a photography agency, Japanese photographer Naoko Yamada began working at a snack bar, where she got to know a strong team of female staff (known in Japan as “Mamas”) who became the subjects of a new photographic project. Snack showcases 177 Mamas across 164 snack bars in Japan over 10 years, with beautiful coloured portraits and exterior and interior images of these iconic Japanese establishments.
